Bennett is a prominent scientist and is a member of the National academy of sciences something like only 1% of all scientists in America achieve that honor. Moreover, her work on aflotoxin generation is notable. Aflotoxins grow readily in peanuts and may have been the source of the problems in the salem witch trials. (I shouldn't have to put that in her entry should I?)

Moreover, no other university has a Vice-Presidential level office of Promotion of Women in Science all others have much lower level promotors so that in its self is significant.
